Vitaly “Bitsukha” Trukhan is a fan of the football club “Desna” (Chernihiv), a representative of the team “Parny Severnaya Stolitsa”.
Vitaly Gennadievich Trukhan was born on September 8, 1994 in the city of Chernihiv. He studied in 15 lyceums and secondary school No. 35 of his native city. Having started actively supporting the Chernihiv “Desna”, he became part of the team “Parny Severnaya Stolitsa”. In the days before Maidan (between 2012-14), when domestic football was at the peak of its heyday, the “Parni SS” gained fame as unfailingly capable fighters, able to take on any opponent without hesitation and always willing to measure their strength with anyone. At the same time, representatives of the team defended nationalist principles on the streets of their native Chernihiv (and not only). Vitaly was one of those who fought for Ukrainian Ukraine among the concrete jungle at a time when national self-consciousness among the population was not at the highest level.
Vitaly made his choice to defend the country from the invaders at the very beginning of the war. In 2014, before one of the evening checks in the barracks, he collected things in a bag of flour and went to the ATO zone. At that time, he was a 19-year-old student of Kharkiv National University of Civil Protection. Vitaliy never returned to his studies — he decided to go to fight for Ukraine. For the next eight years, Bitsuha stood for the integrity and sovereignty of our Motherland.
After a certain time, Vitaly went to sergeant courses. He trained and educated thousands of recruits who passed through him. He was a living legend, because everyone in the regiment knew who Bitsuha was. He was and is an example of an experienced and disciplined Warrior. Thus, his name will forever enter the history of the AZOV regiment. Vitaly's wife, Marina, recalls: - “He was always grateful to the regiment, because it was there that he learned everything, developed and never stopped at what he had achieved. He joined the regiment in 2015, the path to Master Sergeant was 7 years long and I am sure he would not have stopped there.”
Full-scale Russian invasion Chief Sergeant of the VSHK met Colonel Yevhen Konovalets in Mariupol. On the first day of the Great War, his wife received a message from him: - “Now is not the time to be weak, you need to pull yourself together. Now we have to show that we will not be broken. What the whole country is counting on us.” They were in touch almost every day. They wrote messages to each other, Vitaly sent photos to his wife, and when there was an opportunity, he contacted her. Before the blockade of Mariupol, he sent a message: “This will never happen, I will definitely return, I cannot die.”
Bitsuha was killed in action on March 12.
The deceased defender of Ukraine had a wife and two sons - Matthew and Gennady. In the memory of friends, he will remain an open, sincere fighter for the independence of his country. For personal courage and selfless actions in defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, exemplary performance of official duty - the President of Ukraine awarded Master Sergeant Vitaly Truhan with the Order “For Courage” III degree (posthumously).
