Valery “Aladin” Ginda is a fan of the football club “Niva” (Ternopil).
Valery Vasilyevich Ginda was born on November 9, 1997 in Pskov, and when he was 4 months old, the family returned to Ternopol. He studied at the city lyceum №6, after which he continued his studies at the Western Ukrainian National University, at the Faculty of Economics and Management. From the 5th grade he began to engage in Greco-Roman wrestling, reached the rank of KMS. Later he became interested in mixed martial arts, could disappear for days in gyms. Another childhood hobby was collecting car models.
He came to the fan sector of Ternopil “Niva” at the age of 15. Actively supported the team, trying not to miss away matches, many of which were considered distant. Together with friends we got to the right city without tickets. Valery was the soul of the company and easily made new friends. A deputy, a businessman, a janitor, an official, or even a homeless person - he was able to find a common language with everyone. Teammates recall that during his stay in the sector, Valery led an exceptionally healthy lifestyle and promoted sports and freedom from bad habits.
He worked in the security of bars and at the annual music festival “Fine City”. In addition to his main work, Valery actively supported public initiatives, many volunteers. Since 2014, he has been collecting products and medicines for the military, using camouflage nets. When he worked at a factory in the Czech Republic, he stayed after the shift to help in the manufacture of plates for body armor, which were then sent to Ukraine.
And he also loved animals very much, always had food in the car for homeless tails. Children's attraction to collecting car models, developed into a real passion for life - high-speed driving. He was well versed in the technical part and could repair a car of almost any model. According to the memories of loved ones, he knew a lot, had many interests and was an interesting interlocutor.
At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he lived and worked abroad, but refused to remain there and began preparing for war. The military enlistment office refused Valery mobilization, so he submitted applications to various volunteer units, in particular to Azov, where his friend was serving at that time. To pass the selection, there was a little lack of physical training, but he did not take off and continued to search further. Since September 2022, he joined the Honor unit as part of the 1st Separate Mechanized Battalion “Wolves Da Vinci” of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade, which he was very proud of. He quickly mastered the skills of handling weapons, becoming a serious specialist in machine gun business, although before that he had not served military service.
Together with his brothers “Aladin” performed difficult tasks on the front line in Donetsk region. In March 2023, he was one of those who held the last road to Bakhmut in front of the overwhelming enemy forces. Relatives recall that for him it was a matter of honor. Valery Ginda took refuge on March 23, 2023 during a combat mission in the vicinity of the village of Khromovoe (Donetsk region). At the cost of his own life, taking a blow to himself, he saved other fighters.
In the memory of loved ones and brothers, Aladin will forever remain a faithful friend and true patriot of Ukraine, who above all wanted to liberate his native land and change a lot for the better. He was buried on the Alley of Heroes of the Mykulynets cemetery in the city of Ternopil. On April 28, 2023 he was awarded the “Honorary Citizen of Ternopil” (posthumously).
