Igor “Shket” Soloviev is a fan of the football club “Zarya” (Luhansk).
Igor Aleksandrovich Solovyov was born on October 23, 1999 in the city of Dovzhansk (formerly. Sverdlovsk, Luhansk region). Until the fifth grade, he studied at the local school No. 6, after which he entered the Cadet Corps named after him. I.G. Kharitonenko in the city of Sumy, and later continued his studies in the Luhansk gymnasium No. 60. From the first grade he was engaged in swimming and football. Since childhood, I wanted to win and be the first. Parents recall how at the first swimming competition at the age of six he took second place, and when he left the pool, he tore his literacy.
Since childhood, he was very fond of animals, so he went to study at the Kennel College under the profession of “Kenologist”. In Luhansk, he played football in one of the local teams. I tried to give my favorite sport as much time as possible. He played wherever possible. During the events of the Revolution of Dignity and the beginning of the war in eastern Ukraine - he was still studying at school, and later in college. Igor was very worried that his native Luhansk region was occupied by the aggressor country. Therefore, he dreamed that yellow-blue flags would be raised in this territory as soon as possible. Since 2015, he began to think about joining the ranks of “Azov”.
Close people remember Igor as a sociable and open person. He knew how to make friends, was attentive to people and preferred action and movement. Strived for self-assertion and independence, actively defended his own positions. He had developed abstract thinking, was smart and promptly made decisions, always tried to develop not only the body, but also the intellect. In 2019, he moved to Kyiv and began to visit the fan sector of the Lugansk “Dawn”. Soon the dream of several previous years was realized - in 2020, Shket became an Azov fighter.
The beginning of a full-scale invasion was met in Mariupol. If possible, he contacted his parents. They received the last message from the surrounded city on March 20, and on April 11, 2022, Igor Solovyov died during the fighting as a result of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, which turned out to be incompatible with life. His relatives received the news of the death of the defender of Ukraine only on April 24. The next day he was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree (posthumously).
In March 2023, the presentation of the book “Mariupol” took place. The book of the brave” authored by the defender of “Azovstal” Ruslan “David”. In its pages, the author recalls his brother: - “On the day when the Count was mortally wounded, a fighter with the nickname “Shket” was also seriously wounded. I saw how the guys from his group brought to our position a body that showed no signs of life. And it was him - the always smiling guy I met on the first day of my stay in Mariupol... About “Shket” I have only warm memories, I knew him not too long ago, but we quickly found a common language. He was almost the youngest among us. He had his whole life ahead of him, he could master many professions, but the city of death buried the young warrior under him forever...”
