Sergey “Ambrose” is a fan of the football club “Dnipro” (Cherkasy), a representative of the team “Cherkasy Supporters”.

Sergey Sergeevich Ambrose was born on May 16, 1990 in the city of Cherkassy in a family of engineers. He studied in the mathematics class of Gymnasium No. 31 and graduated from it in 2007 with a gold medal. He received his higher education at the Faculty of Construction of the Technical University of Ukraine in the specialty “Industrial and Civil Construction”. From a young age he was interested in the sporting and patriotic life of his hometown. I studied his history. Kind, sincere, tried not to offend anyone, always stood for justice.

Cheering for Cherkasy “Dnipro” Sergey joined the ultra-movement of his club. Considered one of the main people on the podium, he was always ahead both in training and on trips. Ambrose combined the support of his beloved club in and out of the stadium with community initiatives, actively promoted a healthy lifestyle and the prohibition of the distribution of alcohol. He has always been at the center of the public life of his city and was one of the founders of the initiative group “Zdraviye”, aimed at educational activities among young people.

Among his peers, Sergey was distinguished by a special principle of views, he spoke only in Ukrainian. “For him, Ukraine, the state, his native language, customs and traditions were not just words. Sometimes we were surprised ourselves: we are an ordinary Cherkasy family, engineers, and he has such strength of conviction - he was a real Ukrainian! Thus, obviously, by God's will, he was born” - recalls Sergey's mother Tatyana Ambrose. Like most active fans of the pre-war period, he was engaged in martial arts. He loved tourism and traveled a lot besides football outings, and most of all he liked the west of Ukraine and Crimea.

After beating the students with a “golden eagle” on the Maidan, Ambrose together with his brothers went to Kyiv and took part in the fiercest confrontations, at the same time organizing a powerful protest movement in his native Cherkassy. With the beginning of the war in Donbas, he did not delay for a long time and already in May he joined the ranks of the then battalion “Azov”, also together with a cohort of Cherkash volunteers. At the front, he showed himself as a courageous and prudent warrior who did not give in to fear. The fire of the offensive operations in Maryinka and Ilovaisk passed. Quickly crossed the path from soldier to lieutenant. The brothers remember Ambrose as a non-standard, far-sighted, considerate, active guy. Once, in the inter'‎вю of one of the channels, Sergey remarked: - “I believe that those who feel an inner need for it should fight. After all, there are people who have to work, to help us in the cities, to follow the authorities that have come, because we cannot do that. So let them stay better and benefit the people in another way.”

Sergey Ambrose died on February 18, 2015. During the execution of the task in s. Shyrokyne's calculation, which included Sergei, came under continuous artillery and mortar fire from the separatists. During the battle, the soldier received wounds that turned out to be incompatible with life. On the same day, he died in a hospital in Mariupol.

As Ambrose's brethren later recalled, his death was shrouded in mythologisms. In particular, in‎язували them with the life hobbies of the deceased. So the writer Vasily Shklyar will later tell: - “He was very fond of birds — falcons. He had a tattoo of a falcon, he studied everything about them and said, “When I die, I will become a falcon.” And here the doctors give him an operation, the guys are sitting on the base, and suddenly a falcon flies up and sits on the railing... They had never seen a bird on the base, and here the call that Ambrose had died... They bury him in Cherkasy, on the Maidan, and a falcon circles above the procession... The guys come to arrange his grave — there sits a falcon on the cross... I do not even dare to write a work of art about it - they say that I am decorating something again. And life gives things that exceed even fantasy...”

On February 23, 2015, the match of the football championship of Cherkasy region between “Dnipro” (Cherkassy) and FC “Zvenyhorodka” was dedicated to the memory of Serhiy Ambrose. In October of the same year, a memorial plaque was installed on the facade of the school in which he studied. In the premises of the former tobacco factory, located at 170 Blagovisnaya Street, there was a youth hub named after Serhiy AmbrosHUB (Ambros HUB) and a social sports hall (AmbrosCrossFight), training in which training is free for combatants and their families.

In September 2015, in the Cossack fortress “Dakhnivska Sich” near Cherkassy, the charitable all-Ukrainian festival “Insurgent” was held for the first time, during which the tournament in memory of Sergei Ambrose was held according to the rules of MMA 5x5. This sign of commemoration of the fallen Defender of Ukraine should be noted separately, because representatives of domestic fan groups participated in the competitions for several years in a row.

By the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 324/2015 dated June 10, 2015, “for personal courage and high professionalism in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath”, he was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the III degree (posthumously).
