Oleg “Uragan” Khomytsky is a fan of the football club “Karpaty” (Lviv), a representative of the team “Pride”.

Oleg Romanovich Khomytsky was born on September 15, 1991 in Lviv. He studied at school number 46. In 2013 he graduated from Lviv National University named after him. Ivan Franko, where he studied at the Department of Tourism of the Faculty of Geography. He was a plastoon, a pet of the “Salamandra” group of the hut part 1 named after him. King Daniel. He took the oath of office on April 30, 2006, participated in numerous camps and schools. He was actively engaged in running, swimming and water rafting. It was from the Plastun years that his pseudonym - “Hurricane” was fixed.

He began to support “Carpathians” in the fan sector at about the age of 14. In April 2006 he attended the first away match: Lviv played against Dynamo Kyiv in the Cup semi-final. In the same year he joined the team “Pride”. According to educators from Plast, the fame of Oleg as an active Plastun and a devoted fan of “Carpathians” reached even to Kiev. Teammates recall that, having come to the team, “Hurricane” very quickly became the charismatic leader of the “youth”, which under his leadership confidently dominated the opponents. Having a strong character and strong patriotic convictions, he participated together with Bohdan “Pirate” and other Lviv fans in countering pro-Russian influence in the city.

In civilian life, he worked as a guide in the travel company “Accord Tour”, later - in the companies “Bamba” and “Cactus”. In the last years before the war, he was a manager at Silpo. Colleagues remember Oleg as a person who always cared for others and never passed by someone else's need. In parallel with his work, he continued to play sports and by his own example popularized a healthy lifestyle. In 2019, he won one of the most difficult triathlon titles - Ironman Barcelona.

In 2013, Oleg met his future wife Irina. In the summer of 2014, they got married and moved to Odessa, and in the spring of 2016, their daughter Mira was born in the family. Oleg was a loving and caring father: he opened the world to his daughter, taught not to be afraid of difficulties, to try new things and always go forward. He often repeated: “Try - and do not be afraid of anything.”

In the fall of 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, taking the nickname “Istanbul”. He served as part of the 79th Separate Taurian Assault Brigade of the DSHV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the rank of lieutenant, he was deputy chief of staff of an airmobile battalion. Even in the service, he did not leave the sport - in the Strava application you could see how his routes from peaceful cities moved to the front line.

Brothers and sisters refer to Hurricane as a sun man - always with good humor, inner peace and the ability to support others in the most difficult circumstances. Faced with mortal danger, he maintained professionalism and loyalty to his work. Having made his way from frontline fighter to planning team leader, he never shied away from going on a task. A brave warrior and at the same time a man with a big, sincere heart - next to him everything became calmer.

Oleg Khomytskyi died on January 30, 2025 while performing a combat mission in the Kurakhiv direction of Donetsk region. Exactly three months later, his son Markian was born, who will know his father only from photos, stories of relatives, friends and brothers. Posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky III degree. He was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.
