Dmitry “Standap” Skrypnyk is a fan of the football club “Kryvbas” (Kryvyi Rih).
Dmitry Skrypnyk was born on June 13, 1997 in Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region). He studied at school No. 94, after which he obtained the specialty of technologist at the Kryvyi Rih metallurgical professional college of the State University of Economics and Technology. He spent his childhood on the football field, where he played regular yard football with his younger brother and friends all day. In school years, he began to practice karate, and somewhat later - mixed martial arts. Even at school, he showed his talent for humorous performances, he began to perform in the KVK team, wrote scripts and created themes. He managed to develop humorous abilities already in his student years, when he found a group of like-minded people. Participated in local stands and lived by this theme. Being very cheerful, he quickly became the soul of any company.
Youth love for football led Dmitry to the Kryvbas fan sector, for which they began to cheer at the old Metalurg stadium. Being small, he and his brother helped to bring pyrotechnics through the closed part of the stadium, because they could climb through the holes in the fence. He was constantly at home matches, and already in his student years he supported the team on trips to Zaporizhia, Nikopol, Dnipro and Kiev. In the 2015/16 season, Dmitry was attracted to active participation in the fan movement by his famous teammate Ruslan Maidannyk. Already during his studies in Kiev, he had less opportunity to support his native club. But still, without participating in any of the teams, he was a devoted representative of the red and white family.
In civilian life, Dmitry worked at the enterprise “ArcelorMittal”. He was a steelworker, engaged in metal processing under pressure. Recently, he worked in contractors for the repair of blast furnaces, converter furnaces and dimensional steel equipment.
In 2016, he met his future wife Galina, and in the fall of 2021, their daughter Sofia was born. A loving father and beloved husband, for the family Dmitry was the pillar on which everything held. A strong and hardy warrior, he was an example for the younger brother.
Dmitry met the beginning of a full-scale war in his hometown with his wife and 3-month-old child. He immediately went to the district military enlistment office, but was refused mobilization. Then he started volunteering: together with his brother, they traveled around the city and collected aid for displaced people from Kherson and Nikolaev, who left the combat zone and arrived in the city en masse.
In the summer of 2023, he took up arms as part of the aviation reconnaissance platoon of the 3rd battalion of the 12th Brigade of the NGU “Azov”. He took part in the battles in the Serebryansk forest, near Bilogorovka, for New York, Nelipovka, Leonidovka, participated in repelling assaults in the area of Sukhaya Balka, Petrovka and Shcherbinovka in the Donetsk region. In December 2024, he joined the special purpose unit “K12", founded by Nazariy Grintsevich.
According to the memories of loved ones, “Standup” repeatedly risked his life for the sake of his brothers. In battle, he had a cold mind and was able to control fear. At the same time, he supported the fighting spirit of his brothers with jokes. He did not plan to associate life with the army, but when the war came - he became a real professional who was ready to go to the last. He bore the memory of friends who died in Mariupol. Revenge for them was his main motivation in the war.
Dmitry Skrypnyk died on May 9, 2025 in battle in Toretsk direction (Donetsk region). Before the last exit, feeling that death could await him, he went on a mission, looking death straight in the eye. He was awarded the Medal “For Merit to the City of Kryvyi Rih” and the Order “For Courage” of the III degree (posthumously). He is buried in the Central Cemetery of his hometown.
Eternal glory to the Hero!
