Bohdan “Mass” Kozakov is a fan of the football club “Metalurg” (Zaporizhia), a representative of the team “Vaburka Front”.

Bogdan Vladimirovich Kozakov was born on August 2, 1994 in the city of Zaporizhia. He studied in city schools No. 51 and 102. After graduating from 11 classes, he entered the Zaporozhye Center for Vocational Education of Water Transport. The greatest youth interests were sports, and physical education was a favorite lesson. Parents were often called to school because of the restlessness of the son, who grew very emotional, but over the years he became more balanced, he tried to solve all problematic issues with words.

According to the memories of his relatives, Bogdanov did not manage to get to the “navigator” immediately. For a long time they did not want to take him “for health”, so here the characteristic came in handy. Even earlier, he saved his friend who fell from a cliff into the water, having received several fractures. Bohdan jumped after him and kept the other afloat until he saw a boat sailing past them. Upon learning this, he was immediately enrolled, but after a few months Bohdan left there himself.

He began to cheer for Metalurg in the fan sector since 2012. In the area of Baburka, where Bohdan was born and raised, there were many familiar fans. One of them invited Bohdan to go to football and attend away matches. So he had a new big family. In the same year, he began to engage in combat sambo. Joined the team “Vaburka Front”. According to the memories of his teammates, taking part in football events, Bohdan always wanted to stand in the first line to boldly meet opponents.

In civilian life, he worked as a bartender. In 2015, Bohdan and a close friend went to Kyiv to join the Azov Battalion. The CMB was complicated, which Bogdan admitted by calling home. Feeling the support of loved ones, he withstood all the tests and was accepted with some of the best results. He began service at the base in Urzuf, participated in operations in Kaminternovo, Pavlopil, Shyrokyne, Granitnoe, Krasnogorovka, Svitlodarsk.

When he came on vacation, Bohdan spent most of his time with his mother and grandmother. He showed awards for participation in the ATO, of which there were many during the service. When a sniper bullet took the life of a second childhood friend, Bogdan decided to leave Azov, went to Poland for six months. But immediately after returning, he signed a new contract, explaining at home that he misses his brothers very much.

In 2021, he married his beloved Catherine. According to his wife's memories, Bohdan dreamed of family and children for a long time. He was very happy to learn that he would soon be a father. Together with my wife, they dreamed and made plans for the future. In order to receive the rank of officer, he continued his studies at the Azov Maritime Institute of the National University “Odessa Maritime Academy”.

Two days before the start of a full-scale war, Bohdan brought his pregnant wife to his parents in Zaporizhia, saying that 10 days in Mariupol would be a difficult situation. Sometimes he got in touch to support his wife and told that the occupiers were being repulsed. The brothers recall that “Mass” climbed to the roof of high-rise buildings, just to be able to communicate with his beloved. The last time his family heard his voice was on March 5.

Bohdan Kozakov died on March 10, 2022, having been wounded while performing a combat mission, three months before the birth of his daughter. For a long time he was considered missing. Awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree (posthumously).
