Yuri “Artek” Krasovsky is a fan of the football club “Metalist” (Kharkiv), a representative of the team “Army of the First Capital”.
Yuri Valerievich Krasovsky was born on October 27, 1982 in the city of Kharkiv. He studied at school No. 152 of his native city. From a young age, he was actively interested in the history of both his native land and Europe as a whole. The young years of Kharkiv are in the difficult 90s, so as soon as he finished school, he immediately went to work. A thirst for adventure and patriotic beliefs led him to the Metalist fan podium in 1998, and in another year he joined the AFC team - one of the oldest among existing today.
The story of the origin of his nickname among fans remained good and at the same time simple in the memory of Yuri's friends. Sometime in the late 90s, during a trip to Kryvyi Rih, travelers began to lay out their modest possessions from their backpacks. One of the guys took out the Artek waffles known to everyone from childhood from his pocket, after which it became his second name, and his youth passed in frequent trips and football adventures. During this time, he continued to read a lot and deepen his knowledge of history.
At the beginning of the zero, like all Ukrainian fanaticism, the Kharkiv movement experienced a transition period to, so to speak, the peri-football format. AFC were not the last team in the country here, as evidenced by successes in meetings with metropolitan visas. In 2004, Yuri went to the Kiev Maidan, where he became an active participant in the Orange Revolution. At the end of the '00s, he was one of those who tried his best to keep the Kharkiv football movement afloat, and one day, with seven more desperate people, he came to fight in Kiev. It was not possible to win then, but the daredevils received respect from the fan community of the country.
After the untimely death of “Vala” - the leader of the team in 2008, the teammates unanimously entrusted the management and decision-making to “Artek”. In 2009, he got married, and in another two years they had a son, Yegor, with their beloved. Soon after, he decided to devote more time to the family, handing over the management of the team to younger comrades. With the start of the revolutionary events of 2014 in Kharkiv, Yuriy took a direct part in the confrontation with pro-Russian forces in the city and was one of those who prevented the separatists from creating the so-called KhPR.
When the enemy began the invasion of eastern Ukraine, he took up arms in the ranks of one of the volunteer formations. Since 2015, he was a participant of the ATO as part of the 131st separate batch of batons. Friends recall that after the start of the service “Artek” switched to communication exclusively in Ukrainian, which was not so frequent for Kharkov. In 2017, he became a fighter of the regiment “Azov”, joining his teammate, the Hero of Ukraine - Stanislav “Metro” in the division of the platoon. A year later, he entered the part-time studies at the Kharkiv National University named after him. Karazin, at the Faculty of History.
The beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion “Artek” met in the status of a civilian, because a year earlier he had completed his service in Azov. He took the family to a safe place, after which, like most Kharkiv fans, he picked up a gun. Joined the 226th Troop Battalion, on the basis of which later the unit “KRAKEN” will be created. Yuriy Krasovsky fought in battle near the village. Alkhovka on March 25, 2022, having received bullet damage in close fire contact with the enemy. This operation was one of the first attempts to liberate the occupied territory of Kharkiv region.
