
Taras “Fan” Chuchman is a fan of the football club “Karpaty” (Lviv).
Taras Yaroslavovich Chuchman was born on July 4, 1982 in the city of Lviv. He graduated from the College “Zakhidnoukrainian Collegium” with the specialty “Jurisprudence”. Graduated from music school, class - cymbals. In his youth he played and was interested in football.
He began to cheer for the “Carpathians” since 1997, when he first came to the stadium “Ukraine”. Since 2005, he has supported the team in the fan sector at home and away matches.
In the fan movement, Taras revealed and developed his talent as a photographer. Every active fan of “Carpathians” has often seen his videos devoted to the history of the Lviv club, as well as videos from ultras promotions. He was also a regular correspondent for the club. A regular participant in Eurofan tournaments, which were held every year in Lviv and gathered fans from many countries. In memory of them there are video memories from those days, filmed and mounted by Taras Chuchman. Thanks to these videos, the fan of “Carpathians” was known far beyond Ukraine.
In civilian life, Taras was not only engaged in photography and video creation, but was also a highly qualified IT specialist. He worked at SoftServe as a Senior e-Learning Developer, in a team that creates educational materials in electronic format. Thanks to his professionalism and efforts, hundreds of successful training courses and videos have been filmed and created.
Together with his wife Oksana they raised three children. The eldest son Paul was born in 2003, in 2008 and 2009 - daughters Yarina and Anna. Family and friends have always known Taras as an exemplary husband and father who was ready for anything for his family. He adored the mountains of the Carpathians, together with his family they climbed the mountains: Parashka, Pikuy, Dragobrat, Zakhar Berkut.
In 2016, he became the author of a video on the topic of modern war “Insurgent Steppe”, which he shot in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He raised funds for the needs of children with cancer and homeless animals.
From the first days of the full-scale war, Taras joined the ranks of the 2nd separate Galician brigade of the NGU, taking the nickname “Fanat”. According to the memories of friends from the fan movement, Taras consciously wanted to the Donbas and wanted to be useful. His eyes were burning from the fact that he would be there to benefit with his drone.
Taras Chuchman died on April 4, 2023 as a result of enemy artillery shelling near Maryinka (Donetsk region). He was buried in the Lychakivka cemetery in the city of Lviv. In February 2024, a memorial plaque was opened on the building of the school in which the “Fan” studied. His youngest daughter is studying at the same school.
