Sergey “Siever” Tabala is a fan of the football club “Sumy”.

Sergey Alexandrovich Tabala was born on December 16, 1995 in the city of Lebedin (Sumy region). After graduating from Sumy Specialized School No. 9, he obtained the specialty of pastry chef at Sumy Chemical and Technological Center of PTO. From a young age he was interested in the history of his native land, family, was proud that the ancestors were brave warriors. His childhood was not easy: his father died when Sergey was 5 years old, and his mother was forced to go to work abroad. My grandmother was engaged in upbringing.

The fan sector of FC “Sumy” began to attend in the 2012/13 season. According to the memories of his teammates, Sergey immediately showed his fighting character, although he was still very young at that time. Recall the history with the patriotic march in Sumy, after the home match with Kharkiv Helios in 2012. Then in many cities, the police forbade participants of such events from wearing masks and covering their faces. During the march, there was a firefight with unfriendly passers-by, after which the policemen then demanded to remove their masks. “Severus” was one of those who flatly refused to do so and a push began, which grew into the detention of several participants.

Since school age, he has been a crusader and a real leader for his peers. Being a charismatic and interesting person, he was able to show character in those cases when the situation required it. Friends recall that Sergei's youth life took place mainly on the street, where situations were different.

But since the 15th anniversary, a lot has changed. Sergey switched completely to the Ukrainian language and firmly decided to take the path of a Ukrainian nationalist. He tried to re-educate his then friends, and not finding understanding among them - he began to look for like-minded people in patriotic circles.

Not limited only to the support of the football club, together with like-minded people from the “Young Homeland”, he actively participated in the fight against pedophiles in his hometown. The handsome young man often pretended to be a “bait” to detect perverts who were caught and trained.

Sergei went to the capital Maidan even before the actual beginning of the Revolution of Dignity. In November, he was looking for the same active guys, ready to go to the end. On November 29, he joined the ranks of the “Right Sector”, later becoming the commander of one of the detachments. On February 18, 2014, he took part in clashes with the militia on Institutskaya, and on the night of the 18th to the 19th his detachment defended the barricades not Khreshchatyk.

From the time of the Maidan, the brothers remembered how the “Severus” was a farrier. Constantly at the forefront of resistance to the dogs of the criminal regime, his friends had injuries, fractures and contusions. Sergey, however, bypassed these troubles. He joked that the gods loved him. Yes, it was the gods, because he was a pagan.

Friends recall that after the Maidan, “Severus” already looked like a field commander. Having passed the training, he did not hesitate to go to the front as part of the 5th separate battalion of the DUK “Right Sector”. In July-August 2014, Donetsk International Airport defended. He was in the hell of the fighting, and on August 28 he was wounded by grenade fragments in the chest and arm.

Not wanting to leave his comrades, he left for treatment only on the orders of the commander, and already in September began to gather back. In those days, “cyborgs” defended the DAP building in fierce battles, every person was on the account.

Serhiy Tabala died on November 6, 2014 as a result of an artillery shell hit by a 100-mm MT-12 “Rapira” anti-tank gun during the assault by Russian militants of the airport control tower. Together with him, two brothers died.

“Severus” became the youngest of the “cyborgs”, as well as the youngest fallen soldier from the Sumy region at that time. He was buried on the Alley of Glory in his hometown. On November 21, 2016, the President of Ukraine signed a decree awarding Sergey Tabali the title of “Hero of Ukraine” with the award of the Order “Golden Star” (posthumously).

On February 19, 2016, in honor of Sergei Tabala, the former street was renamed. Paris Commune in the city. Sums. Honorary citizen of the city of Sumy (since December 17, 2014). A memorial plaque is installed on the building of the school where Sergei once studied.
