Pavel “Gentleman” Unguryan is a fan of the football club “Bukovyna” (Chernivtsi), a representative of the team “Buko Falcons”.
Pavel Petrovich Unguryan was born on June 27, 1997 in the village of Komarivka (Chernivtsi region). He studied at a local school, after which he graduated from the Chernivtsi National University named after him. Yuri Fedkovich with a specialization in “Physical Culture and Sports”. The choice of specialty was not accidental, because from a young age he was physically developed. As a child, he played soccer, volleyball, swam in the river and practiced crossbar. For eight years he was engaged in pankration in the city. Storozhinets, becoming a candidate for master of sports in this type of martial arts. He won regional competitions, and was also the champion of Ukraine in the Pancration among juniors. Even in junior school, Pavel attended a ball dance circle, took an active part in preparing for all New Year's holidays in the village club, he had a special love for the organization “Malanka”. From a young age, he was a DJ at school and country discos.
Pavel got to the fan sector of “Bukovyna” at the age of 16 (in 2013). According to the memories of his teammates, he quickly joined the “duo” due to his patriotic attitude, kindness, honesty and openness. Actively participated in conducting marches and the general development of the fan movement. In 2014, Pavel became the co-leader of the restored team “Buko Falcons”. He engaged in the involvement of young people, and also participated in the trainings of the team, which over time showed itself well in the sector.
He and his future wife Inna met in 2020. Even before the first meeting, they were acquainted in absentia, because they lived in neighboring villages. The second date was to watch the match of the national teams of Ukraine and Spain in the League of Nations. Pavel and Inna planned a marriage, which they wanted to organize on their own, for which he had to go abroad for six months to earn money. Within 24 hours of Paul's return, the couple married.
In civilian life, Paul dreamed of developing his own business. In particular, it was about protecting the territory with drones (training UAV pilots) and using this to their advantage after the war. He also aimed to master foreign languages. The first course was Italian, the course of which, unfortunately, he did not complete.
From the first days of the full-scale war, Pavel joined the ranks of the local TRO. Subsequently, he served as part of the 107th Troop Brigade, where he went from driver to company commander. In the winter of 2022, performing a combat mission in the year of the Russian Federation. Kurdyumovka, withdrew the unit from the vicinity.
In the spring of 2023, he became interested in UAVs and became a pilot of the Sapsan unit as part of the 94th battalion of the 107th Obr-TrO. With the direct participation of the Gentleman, a great deal of enemy manpower and equipment was destroyed. In the summer of 2023, he successfully completed his training, received his primary officer rank, and became a platoon commander. At the end of the year he took part in the battles on the outskirts of Chasovy Yar, near Bohdanivka. It was there that he led the group and successfully completed the task of clearing previously lost positions, and in a few months became a company commander.
According to the recollections of the brothers, the “Gentleman” was a man of exceptional courage and patriotism. His optimism and unbreakable spirit, as well as his ability to support in difficult times, were a source of inspiration for the brothers in arms. Awarded the award of the head of the regional department of the Territorial Defense Forces “West”. Throughout his life, he carried a love of football, actively promoting football in the battalion. Together with the brothers, they went to competitions between their companies, and also often played with each other in any convenient place.
In the spring of 2024, Pavel and Inna had a son Dmitry. This gave the defender even more motivation and inspiration to fight. He was able to stay with his family for the last time in the fall of the same year, when he was undergoing rehabilitation.
Pavlo Unguryan died on January 9, 2025 while performing a combat mission near Kupyansk (Kharkiv region). As a result of hitting an enemy FPV drone, he suffered injuries incompatible with life. He was buried in his native Komarivtsi. Awarded the Combatant Cross badge (posthumously).
