
Alexey “Obolon” Gornitsky is a fan of the football club CSKA (Kyiv), representative of the team “Old Castle”.
Alexey Yurievich Gornitsky was born on March 5, 1999 in the city of Kiev. He graduated from school No. 240 of his native city, after which he entered the Kiev Technical College of Transport and Economics, in the specialty of an auto mechanic. From an early age, he began to play sports, in particular boxing. Participated in MMA competitions. Later, his passion for boxing will grow into the main sport of his life, and in 2019 Alexey will begin training for Azov youth.
After completing military service in 2020-21, he continued to receive education at the Faculty of Law of the Academy of MAUP. Worked and dreamed of a happy future. I was interested in cars. Family and friends remember Alexei as a sociable man with a good sense of humor. He lived and enjoyed life. Always had fun and was able to bring a smile to others.
He met CSKA fans, coaching several of them in “Cossack”. Closer acquaintance took place already at the boxing tournament in Bucha. The team of “Old Castle” invited Alexei to their place, and soon he was supposed to go to his first fight. But the beginning of the Great War made its adjustments. Instead of the expected opportunity to prove themselves in football adventures, the guys went to defend the country. During the fighting in the Nikolaev area he was next to comrades from the battalion “Kievan Rus”. According to their memories, Alexei showed himself as a faithful friend and brother. Despite being in the fan movement recently, he was ready to do anything to help his fellow participants in these difficult times.
After the beginning of a full-scale war, Obolon defended the country as part of the 2nd reconnaissance detachment of the reconnaissance platoon of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. Participated in the liberation of Mykolaiv and Kherson region. The constant and exhausting battles did not frighten him, on the contrary, he rushed into battle. Simple and fun, always came to the aid of his brothers. During the repulse of the offensive on one of the settlements of Mykolaiv region, he pulled out and evacuated many comrades from the shelling.
On December 25, 2022, fierce fighting continued with the occupiers for Bakhmut. While performing a combat mission, scout Alexei Gornitsky received a gunshot wound from an enemy mine explosion. He was evacuated to the hospital of the city of Dnipro. Unfortunately, the injuries were incompatible with life, on December 28 the defender died. He was buried in the Forest Cemetery in Kiev.
