
Oleg Salnyk is a fan of the football club “Crystal” (Kherson).
Oleg Sergeevich Salnik was born on January 1, 1997 in Kherson. He studied at school No. 35, after which he entered the Kherson State Maritime Academy. His childhood was like that of most children: games, the yard, friends and the simple joys of life. From a young age, he became interested in martial arts, including MMA, kickboxing, and fighting without rules.
In the fan movement “Crystal” Oleg since 2012. Actively supported the Kherson club in the fan sector, attended away matches.
A full-scale invasion in 2022 stranded Oleg in Kiev, where he worked in one of the companies. Did not stay aside: helped build checkpoints, made Molotov cocktails and resisted the invaders.
In May 2023, he joined a volunteer organization, which later grew into a charitable foundation “Real”, becoming one of the most active participants in the organization. After the explosion of the Kakhovsk hydroelectric power plant, Oleg took a direct part in the evacuation of people, the elimination of the consequences of the disaster, rescued civilians and animals, and delivered humanitarian aid. After that, he continued evacuation missions from the frontline villages and the city of Kherson, as well as provided assistance to the deoccupied territories and communities that were under constant threat of shelling.
In May 2024, Oleg joined the Ukrainian Volunteer Army together with his friends, holding the position of head of the warehouse. He actively provided the military with everything they needed: burghers, generators, warm insoles, boats, motors, cars, charging stations and other important equipment for the front. Until the last days of his life, he remained devoted to the cause of helping the military and civilians, working tirelessly both in the foundation and as part of the volunteer unit.
Oleg Salnyk died on April 12, 2025 in Kherson. As a result of hitting an enemy FPV drone - received injuries incompatible with life. He was buried in the cemetery of Geologists in the city of Kherson.
