Oleh "Ryzhiy" Salo was a fan of the "Karpaty" (Lviv) football club and a member of the "Brigade SND" group.

Oleh Romanovych Salo was born on April 4, 2004, in Lviv. He attended city school No. 49, after which he trained as a car mechanic at the Interregional Higher Vocational School of Automobile Transport and Construction. He practiced mixed martial arts at SC "Odyssey" and also weightlifting. From an early age, he began attending the Lviv "Karpaty" fan sector.

His fellow club members remember Oleh from when he was no older than 12. He attended the "Karpaty" fan sector, always stood out among his peers, and at 16, he joined the training sessions of the "Brigade SND" group.

In civilian life, he worked as a cook at the "Shaurma Lviv" street food chain.

According to his loved ones, Oleh was honest, straightforward, and fair. He valued sincerity in relationships and adored animals. Even before reaching adulthood, he aspired to defend his country with a weapon in hand.

At the beginning of the full-scale war, Oleh was actively involved in volunteer work. He was among the first to help set up a hall that accommodated people from other cities. He also assisted in opening a volunteer car service station: he did all the rough work and never complained. He made every effort to get the service up and running as quickly as possible.

He constantly asked older club members, "How are things there?", as the war greatly interested him. While still a minor, he completed several courses at the "Batiary" FPV drone school, and in 2023, he joined the ranks of the 3rd Assault Brigade. His friends learned about Oleh's decision to join the military later, when he informed them he was undergoing training at a firing range. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine in the Luhansk, Donetsk, and Southern Slobozhansky directions. In the military, he received another call sign – "Kvitень" (April).

Oleh Salo died on June 30, 2025, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk Oblast. He is buried in Lychakiv Cemetery in his native Lviv.
