
Oleg “Berkut” Didushko is a fan of the football club “Dynamo” (Kyiv), a representative of the team “Old Legion”.
Oleg Anatolyevich Didushko - was born on March 17, 1972 in the city of Kiev. He graduated from the capital's school No. 108. He served in military service in the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. In the early 1990s, he participated in curbing the inter-ethnic conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. All his life he lived in the Golosiivskyi district of the city. Kiev. In his youth, he became a candidate for the USSR Masters of Sports in boxing.
But the “Golden Eagle” became widely known not due to its sporting achievements. The representative of the old school of metropolitan fanaticism traveled for Dynamo a huge number of Ukrainian (and not only) cities. He captured the times, as fans often say, of “more of that,” romantic fanaticism. He also participated in a large number of football events of the 1990s. There are still legends about the away adventures of Oleg “Berkut” and his teammates on the stands of Kyiv.
In the winter of 2013-2014 he was on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv, where he took an active part in the Revolution of Dignity. On February 18, 2014 (on the first day of the shootings on the Maidan) he was wounded in the leg on the street. Hrushevsky. With the beginning of the Russian military aggression in the east of the country, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. In May-July 2014, he served as a grenade launcher of the 2nd reserve battalion of the operational purpose of the NGU (now — the battalion of operational purpose named after him). On February 7, 2015, at about 22:30 during service at a checkpoint near the city of Debaltseve (Donetsk region), the group, which included soldier Oleg Didushko, came under continuous artillery and mortar fire and took the battle with the overwhelming forces of the enemy. During the battle, Oleg Didushko received numerous shrapnel injuries incompatible with life.
By the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 176/2015 dated March 25, 2015, “for personal courage and high professionalism shown in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”, he was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the III degree (posthumously). A memorial plaque was opened on the wall of the school, №108, where Oleg Didushko studied.
