
Maxim “Piston” Kagal is a fan of the football club “Kremen” (Kremenchuk).
Maxim Vladimirovich Kagal was born on July 5, 1991 in Kremenchug (Poltava region). He studied at school No. 3, and in 2010 he graduated from the Kremenchuk Technical School of Railway Transport, after which he entered the Kremenchuk National University named after him. Mikhail Ostrogradsky.
Actively supported “Kremen” in the sector in the late zero - early 2010s. In the 2010/11 season he rolled off the “Golden Season”. It was participation in the fan movement that motivated Maxim to start an adult sports career.
Sport remained Maxim's main hobby in civilian life. As a teenager, he began to play rugby, but his greatest love was martial arts - kickboxing and Thai boxing. In 2014, Maxim became the world champion in kickboxing according to ISKA 2014. In one more discipline at the same competition - he won a bronze medal.
In July 2015, he joined the Azov regiment, for which he missed a performance at an international kickboxing tournament in China. He took part in the battles in Shyrokyne, was on the Svitlodar arc. The brothers heeded Maxim's advice, and soon he became deputy commander of the 1st Operational Assignment Company of the 1st Operational Assignment Battalion.
During the service, “Pistone” declared for all sports competitions that were organized by the NGU and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Represented the regiment in boxing, crossfit, running, hurdles competitions. During the competition between all types of troops, the first in “Azov” won the right to wear a beret with honors.
Having met a full-scale enemy offensive in Mariupol, in early March, Pistone led a consolidated unit tasked with holding back the enemy's advance. Later he commanded a group of “Azov”, which destroyed a command post of the Russians, equipped in one of the residential buildings.
Maxim Kagal died on March 25, 2022, after receiving numerous injuries as a result of a falling air bomb. He was buried on the Alley of Heroes of the Svishtov cemetery in his native Kremenchuk. On April 2, 2022, the President of Ukraine signed a decree awarding Maxim Kagal the title of “Hero of Ukraine” with the award of the Order of the Golden Star (posthumously).
In honor of Maxim Kagal, the street in the city was renamed. Kremenchuk.
