Maxim “Maxon” Vratsky is a fan of the football club “Chernomorets” (Odessa), a representative of the team “Segedka”.

Maxim Sergeevich Vratsky was born on November 30, 1991 in the Russian city of Kholmsk (Sakhalin region). Since 1999, the family moved to Odessa, where he spent his whole conscious life. He studied at the Chernomorsky Lyceum School, after which he graduated from the Odessa National Maritime University in the specialty “Organization of Transportation and Management on Transport (Maritime)”. He was engaged in martial arts, in particular Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Since childhood, he loved history and read a lot, had great knowledge in cinema and music. Loved watching clips on MTV, which in the future gave the opportunity to be one of the best players in guess the melody or guess the frame. He also loved computer games and sports.

He joined the fan movement “Chernomorets” in 2018, before that he visited the team's matches from time to time. This story is also connected with the main sports hobby of Maxim, because representatives of the movement began to go to training in the hall where he was already engaged.

Over time, Maxim plunged into the football life with trips, joint training sessions and weekly meetings. Skilled on tatami and wrestling carpet, Maxim made a significant contribution to the formation of the team “Segedka”. Many guys actually did not know how to fight, and he showed and explained everything in detail and patiently.

Brother Nikolai recalls how Maxim punched the exit to the match of Poltava Vorskla, with whose fans representatives of “Segedka” have friendly relations. How he, despite the difficulties with the car during the road, tried to get to Poltava as soon as possible, because the guys were already waiting. How they changed the wheel during the trip, because they ran into some pit. Maxim spoke with great enthusiasm about this trip.

In addition to the Odessa club, he also sympathized with “Milan”, because as a child he received a T-shirt of Andrei Shevchenko playing for the Italian club. Somehow it happened and Max constantly watched Milan's games, his favorite player was Kaka, he was incredibly happy when he got the Golden Ball. In their room with his brother hung a poster from the magazine “Football” where Kaka held this award.

In civilian life, Maxim worked in his specialty, his last place of work was Exim Food LLC, where he was engaged in the organization of logistics and transport. He spent almost all his free time in the hall. He was engaged in the popularization of jiu-jitsu in Odessa, had a brown belt (black belt - posthumously) from this sport. Trained children, and later - led an adult group. He also trained Navy cadets.

Together with his brother, they dreamed of opening their own hall, in which they would not only teach jiu-jitsu techniques, but also educate patriotically conscious youth. He loved to walk, was a vegetarian for a long time and cared for homeless animals.

On June 02, 2018, Maxim met his future wife Sofia, whom he married in June 2022. And a year later, the couple had a son Mark.

At the beginning of a full-scale war, Maxim was actively engaged in volunteer activities. He had a “white ticket” due to the absence of one kidney, and could not go to the army at all, but already in March 2022 he joined the ranks of the 126th Brigade of the TRO, where he performed combat tasks as part of the unit “Buzkiy Guard”, the backbone of which is made up of representatives of the eponymous fan team from Nikolaev.

The war route of the “Maxons” passed in the southern direction. At first he was a radio operator, was engaged in air reconnaissance, and later became the number of the service officer of the mortar calculation. Participated in the liberation of the Nikolaev region. and the right bank of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson. He was a participant in the counter-offensive actions of 2023 (Poima bridgehead, Krynka bridgehead). He devoted a lot of free time to military literature and sought to be useful as he could.

According to the memories of his relatives, the war almost did not change Maxim. He was still in constant contact with his wife, trying to come home from time to time to see Sofia and their newborn son.

Maxim Vratsky died on January 5, 2024 as a result of an enemy hit by a high-precision projectile during the fighting for the Krynka bridgehead in N.P. Tyaginka (Kherson region). He was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree (posthumously) (from March 13, 2024).

A memorial plaque in honor of Maxim Vratsky is installed in the building of the Odessa National Maritime University, where the fallen defender once studied.
