Yevgeny “Ryasik” Ryasny is a fan of football clubs “Zarya” (Luhansk) and “Dynamo” (Kiev).

Evgeny Viktorovich Ryasny was born on November 29, 1993 in the village of Mikhailyuki (Luhansk region). After studying at a local school, he entered the Lisichansk Pedagogical College for the specialty Technological Education, where his brother Dmitry studied at that time. During his studies, he was fascinated by the history of Ukraine, especially the young man was interested in the nationalist movement and the figure of Stepan Andriyovich Bandera. He wrote articles and gave speeches among students on socially important topics. In 2012, he switched to the Ukrainian language of communication. According to the memoirs of his brother, Eugene from an early age dreamed of becoming a politician and changing Ukrainian society for the better. Since childhood, he was active in sports, played football.

He first got to the fan podium “Dawn” at the age of 13. Evgeny was once brought with his brother to the team's home matches by his father. Since Dmytro was a fan of Shakhtar, Yevgeny chose their main rival. And also fans from the game of Artem Milevsky. During college, trips to Luhansk and to away matches of Dynamo Kyiv began. He received in his apartment in Lysychansk guys from the capital movement, who were returning from the city, or were somewhere in the Donbas.

In 2014, he participated in the Revolution of Dignity event on the capital's Maidan. In April 2016, he again followed his brother Dmitry, who a year earlier joined the ranks of “Azov”. The year was not issued, then signed the contract. From the very beginning he was in a sniper platoon, was a deputy commander. Eugene took part in the battles on the Svitlodar arc, in Shyrokyne and Dokuchaevsk.

Further about “Ryasik” is remembered by his brother from “Azov” with the nickname “Modest”:

- “I think that just as I knew “Ryasika” in the service - no one knew him. For about 5 years we were in a sniper pair, were partners of each other, worked together, trained together, studied together, performed combat tasks together and rested. For me, Zheka will remain the best partner forever. We understood each other from a half-word. We visited the hottest destinations of that time, Avdiyivka, Pisky, Shirokino, Svitlodarskaya arc, Mariinka. How much qualified quality work was done and how many tens of kilometers of gray area crawled on their stomachs, how many enemies were destroyed...

I was one of those people who taught him how to snipe when he joined us in a unit that at that time, you could say, was forming. He absorbed information well, learned quickly and quickly grew up in this difficult business. After some time, we were already together as part of the department performing tasks under Sakhanka, and were a sniper pair. I saw how Zheki's eyes burned when there was a result, and each successful goal was a motivation for him to prepare for further work and study.

Some things I learned in Zheki. His attitude to life, it was so easy and simple. Often he took me out of depressive moods and, one might say, taught me how to perceive failures, or some difficulties in life. For this, I am separately grateful to him, he was always in a good mood, according to him he could never say that something was wrong with him. Even when our unit suffered the first losses on the Svitlodar Arc. Zheka and I were part of a group of 4 people who had to evacuate our fellow friend “Beach” from the gray area. We then passed one and a half kilometers of the gray zone with landings and beams, and approached the enemy 90 meters. Unfortunately, our attempt was unsuccessful, but this operation opened my eyes to many things: both people and working moments. It was difficult for me to relive this moment, but in the evening we sat down with Zheka, talked heart to heart, and it became easier for me. Then I realized a few things. Zheki has a unique ability to get people out of depressed states, and I was grateful that he was with me at such a time. Second, there was no fear in him. Third, I figured out who I could rely on.

I remember how one of the winters there was a crazy swamp, and no equipment from the existing one could reach the position on which we worked. The intensity of the fighting was high for that period, for several days we shared a bag of apple dryers and melted the snow that gathered behind the trench cob because there was no more water. The provisions reached us only after several days of fighting we ran out of ammunition in the positions, we were all dirty, wet through, but happy, because a colossal work had been done. You know, against the background of all our successful activities, I was almost always sure that we would not die, but would hardly even be injured, such a situation was simply difficult to imagine, with the level of professionalism that we have achieved.

Even when we rested in the pub after successful tasks drinking beer, Zheka thought about improving our efficiency, some innovations, innovations, something that could make our work even better. You know, there is such an expression “I would not go with you in reconnaissance.” So “Ryasik” was the one in which I was always 110 percent sure. He was exactly who I always wanted to see by my side during our surgeries, he could always be relied on and trusted to cover my back. Zeka was a good man with a light soul, a true warrior, the most ardent patriot of his country, whom I knew during my lifetime, intelligent and hardy. If he was given a task - with a probability of 99.9% it will be fulfilled.”

The beginning of a full-scale war “Ryasik” met in Mariupol. Although he had the documents of liberation in his hands, he joined the defense of the city with his brothers. During the fighting, he got two severe contusions with loss of consciousness, his brothers dug out from under the rubble and transported to Azovstal. After a short recovery, he hurried back to his position. After that, he received a traumatic leg amputation. Having lost his leg, he was on the “Zalizyatka” with other wounded. He agreed to be evacuated by helicopter, hoping to reach the Dnieper, where a girl was waiting for him. Despite the severe injury with amputation, he did not lose optimism, planned to marry his beloved.

Yevgeny Ryasnyi died on March 31, 2022 in a shot down during the evacuation of a helicopter. He was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree (posthumously), the Medal “For Loyalty and Merit”, “Cossack Cross” of the 3rd and 2nd degree, the Medal “For Military Service to Ukraine”.
