Yegor “Yura” Gorbatenko is a fan of the football club “Zarya” (Luhansk).
Yegor Vladimirovich Gorbatenko was born on October 11, 1993 in the city of Luhansk. Since childhood, he collected stamps and was engaged in equestrian sports, finding inspiration both in small details and in fast running.
Yegor came to the fan sector of “Dawn” in 2010. Teammates remember him as always an active and reliable participant in football events. Outings, fights with fans of other clubs, graffiti and preparation of performances - in all this Yegor brought his ideas that made the Luhansk movement better.
After the outbreak of the war in the East and the occupation of Luhansk, Yegor took up arms. Choosing between the battalions “Azov” and “Aydar”, he made a choice in the direction of where there were a large number of representatives of fan cells from all over the country, including from Luhansk. Taking the nickname “Yura”, together with other volunteers from the first “Azov” composition, he took part in the Shyrokyn offensive operation and the battles on the Svitlodar arc.
In 2016, he met his future wife Tatiana. In April 2019, they had a daughter, Miroslav, whom dad was able to see only three months later, returning from the East. Egor met his future wife in Mariupol, where he served.
According to the memories of his relatives, Yegor was ready for the start of a great war. A month before the start of full-scale wars, he asked his wife to collect things and asked relatives to leave the city, anticipating heavy fighting for Mariupol. On the first day of a full-scale war, waking up in Mariupol from the explosions, there was no panic. Having sent the family to a safer place, “Yura” began to perform combat tasks to defend the city. Then there was fighting in the surrounded Mariupol. Wounded during the breakthrough on the “Azovstal”, captivity and the surviving terrorist attack in Olenovka.
The next time the family was seen was in September 2022, when Yura became one of 215 defenders who returned home as part of the exchange. The wife recalls that the captivity did not break Yegor either physically or psychologically. So after a short rehabilitation and recovery, he returned again to his brothers, now to the Azov brigade. Having lost his home first in Luhansk, and then in Mariupol - he never regretted it, smiled a lot and always had a fighting mood.
Yegor Gorbatenko died on November 8, 2024 in battle near Kreminna (Luhansk region). The brothers will always remember the true warrior who paved the way to his native Luhansk through the corpses of the enemies he destroyed.
