We can say that his active sports life was just beginning. He was supposed to represent Ukraine at the MMA World Championship GAMMA in March.
But on February 24, a full-scale Russian invasion began. “Bir” immediately gathered and went to Mariupol. With him went there his teammates, also from the team “The Company”, who had not had any combat experience before. One of them would later be captured, the other was wounded. Yegor Birkun gave his life defending Mariupol on March 22. Running between houses to help his comrade, who came under enemy fire, he received bullet wounds incompatible with life.
