Dmitry “Vietnam” Astrakov is a fan of the football club “Dnipro”.
Dmitry Sergeevich Astrakov was born on March 5, 1994 in the city of Dnipro (then Dnipropetrovsk). He graduated from school No. 29, after which he studied at the “Interregional Higher Professional School of Printing and Information Technologies”. From a young age, Dmitry was fond of martial arts, was an active fan of the club “Dnipro”, but he did not have time to join a team from the stands of his native club. A real fighter in life, always ready to defend his views and not give up before solving difficult issues. He was also a true patriot of Ukraine and was concerned about the fate of his native land.
Like most ultras domestic football clubs, Vietnam was an active participant in the revolutionary events of 2014 in its city. Since the beginning of the war, he was a volunteer and helped various military units in which representatives of the Dnieper movement fought. He repeatedly said that he dreams of joining Azov, and already in November 2014 he took up arms, promising his mother and sister that he would definitely return. The brothers remember the young fighter as always a cheerful and sincere friend.
Dmitry Astrakov died in battle on December 28, 2014. Around eight o'clock in the evening, a sabotage and reconnaissance group of terrorists shelled a checkpoint near Mariupol, where Azov fighters were on duty, including Vietnam. The attack was repelled, but during the first fire contact Dmitry was wounded in the neck. The 20-year-old Warrior was taken to the hospital of the city of Mariupol. Unfortunately, there he died without regaining consciousness. On July 17, 2015, he was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree (posthumously).
