Denis “Junior” Bondarenko is a fan of the football club “Sumy”, a representative of the team “Gentlemen”.

Denis Alexandrovich Bondarenko was born in the village of Stetskivka (Sumy region) on January 21, 2004. He studied at the secondary school of his native village, after which he entered the Institute of Physical Culture of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko. His childhood and youth were not easy, because his parents often quarreled and eventually divorced, and the young man and his little sister were raised by their grandparents.

At the same time, life's difficulties and adversities hardened the young man and he grew up honest, determined and kind to people. In the school characteristics it was noted that Denis always conscientiously treated his studies, was an active participant in student self-government and had his opinion on every issue, without being exposed to outside influence. But best of all, he realized himself in sports. He played for the area's football team and was a multiple winner of the multi-sport military competition.

Passion for football and love for sports and a sober lifestyle at a fairly early age brought Denis to the fan sector of FC “Sumy”. In football life, he represented the younger generation of the “Gentlemen” team, who were not afraid to accept challenges from larger and more powerful fan teams. He was also an active participant in the youth patriotic movement in Sumy region, in particular the All-Ukrainian children's and youth military-patriotic play “Dzhura”.

With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, “Junior” went to the defense of Mariupol as part of a separate special purpose detachment of the National Defense University “Azov”. Despite his still very young age, he courageously held the defense of the Ukrainian fortress city. Denis Bondarenko died on May 1, 2022 during a breakout to Azovstal. Awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree (posthumously).
