Bohdan “Bodya Pirat” Kryl is a fan of the football club “Karpaty” (Lviv), representative of the team “Pride”.
Bogdan Sergeevich Krill was born on May 17, 1992 in the city of Kamianets-Podilsky (Khmelnytsky region). He studied at Lyceum No. 2 of Lviv City Council, after which he entered the Faculty of Philosophy of Lviv University named after him. Ivan Franko, and also graduated from the military department at the Academy of Land Forces named after him. P. Sagaidachnoho. Among the subjects, the young man was most attracted by history, he read a lot. From an early age he was involved in sports - handball and several types of contact martial arts.
The love of competition, a healthy lifestyle and patriotic beliefs in 2006 led Bohdan to the fan sector of the Carpathians. It happened quite early, because at the time he was only 15 years old. The active and well-developed young man was immediately noticed by the leaders of the “Pride” team and invited to join them. Soon he became the leader of the younger generation of this fan group. Also, “Bodya Pirate” found the ideas of Straight edge - a popular worldview and lifestyle in those years. Complete freedom from tobacco, alcohol and other forms of addiction. So Bohdan tried to bring only the useful to his team - compulsory sports activities and the rejection of everything that could harm health and interfere with training.
The dedication to the study of the history of the native land, especially about the years of the liberation battles of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, later developed into active participation in patriotic events throughout Ukraine. In particular, in his hometown Bohdan was one of those who organized marches in honor of the heroes of the middle of the last century. He became a co-organizer of the first torchlight procession in honor of the Heroes of Krute and for the next anniversary of the creation of the division “Galicia”. Thanks to his acquaintances among fans, he had contacts in different parts of the country, associating with well-known activists, in particular the Odessa resident Maxim Chaika, who was later treacherously murdered for his nationalist stance.
Being one of the leaders in the stands of “Carpathians” and playing one of the key roles in the confrontation of the Lviv fan movement with movements from other cities, “Bodya Pirat” actively attended away matches of its native club in the late zero - early 10's. Among those engaged in boxing, kickboxing and other martial arts, I found for myself a favorite kind - kudo. Zaporizhia, Kiev, Lutsk - cities in which Bogdan and his friends were looking for new trials and fan adventures. Fights by prior arrangement were not uncommon, including with fans of Belarusian football clubs.
In 2013, the events of the Revolution of Dignity began. Bohdan and his friends managed to participate both in the confrontation with the criminal authorities on the capital's Maidan, and in the fight against the pro-Russian element in his native Lviv. After the beginning of the enemy invasion in the east of Ukraine, he tried to join the ranks of various units, but then he did not succeed. Realizing the inevitability of the coming war, he joined the local rifle society, where one of his close friends taught. In October 2019, he entered military service in the NGU, performed combat missions in the East of Ukraine. In the summer of 2021, he became a fighter of the Azov regiment, where, according to friends and teammates, he completely found himself among fans and patriots from all regions of the country.
He met a full-scale Russian invasion in Mariupol as a machine-gunner. Relatives for a long time had no connection with the brave defender of the city, until then they learned that he was wounded. Bohdan Krill died on May 08, 2022 as a result of an air bomb hitting a room with wounded Ukrainian fighters. The family was notified of the death of the son by friends of the deceased. For his relatives and closest friends, “Body Pirate” will forever remain a guide and an example of patriotism. Awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree (posthumously).
