Artem “Terror” Novikov is a fan of the football club “Dynamo” (Kyiv), a representative of the team “North Company”.

Artem Sergeevich Novikov was born on February 8, 2002 in the city of Kiev. He studied at Kyiv Secondary School No. 256 and Metropolitan Lyceum No. 9, after which he enrolled at the University named after him. Boris Grinchenko on the specialty “Rehabilitologist”.

Artem grew up a very active and creative child. He loved to draw, record himself on a recorder, fantasize. He was very close to his grandmother, who from childhood taught the boy to be sensitive to animals, to give way and help old people, to do justice and protect the weak. From the window it was always possible to distinguish his ringing voice from the crowds of children under the windows. I practiced aikido, visited the pool. Thanks to the class teacher of junior classes Sorokinia Maria Panasivna, he was involved with the whole class in the ensemble of folk singing “Poppy Blossoms”. Therefore, the years in the junior grades were very saturated with Ukrainian traditions.

Relatives recall that Artem as a child was very fond of Flash, his speed, so he often tried to overtake the tram. After the next question “Am I really faster than the tram?” it was decided to give Artem to athletics, to run. This is how his sporting career began. A lot of competitions, the spirit of rivalry gradually prepared him for the next stage in life - fanatical.

In 2019, he joined the then still young Dynamo team “North Company”. Together with friends, he participated in football events, where he always showed himself from the best side, showing his skills and unbreakable character in many fan fights, outings, at training and in the “forest”.

Friends remember Artem as an extremely cheerful person who inspired optimism in everyone around, and faith in the best motivated new achievements. Any kind of sport was given to Artymov easily, he could practice both volleyball and boxing with the same enthusiasm. Unfortunately, he did not have time to get to the professional level, although he had deposits and was very eager for it, performing in the category of mixed martial arts.

In the last weeks before the start of the Great War, the Dynamo fan movement envisaged various options for the development of events, conducted training sessions, communicated with teammates related to shooting ranges and a culture of handling weapons. When the enemy moved from several directions at once, the “Terror” was one of those who took up arms from the first days. He joined the Azov battalion of the TRO, which later became part of the 3rd OShBR.

After the successful defense of the capital, the fighters were in the Zaporizhzhya direction, and from the first days of 2023 they entered the battle for Bakhmut. The brothers saw in Artymov a strong and courageous man, a true friend who could be relied on in any situation. Along with him were his teammates, who went side by side more than a dozen football adventures, and now together defended Ukraine. They say that “Terror” was always ready to go first and was confident of victory, despite how many enemies stood in front of him.

On January 11, 2023, fighters of the 2nd Assault Battalion of the 3rd OshBR came across an enemy group in the village of Bila Hora, near Bakhmut. A close battle began, in which Artem Novikov, covering a reconnaissance group with a machine gun, received bullet wounds incompatible with life. He was buried in the Forest Cemetery in Kiev. Awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree (posthumously).
