Artem “Medea” Medvedev is a fan of the football club “Vorskla” (Poltava).

Artem Alekseevich Medvedev was born on August 08, 1991 in the city of Poltava. He graduated from secondary school №9, and from 2008 to 2013 he studied at the historical faculty of the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after him. IN. G. Korolenka. Since childhood, he was fond of football, and already at the age of 15 he joined the Vorskla fan movement. Actively supported the team at home and away matches, capturing the heyday of Ukrainian football.

Before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Artem worked for some time in the capital, where part of his family also lived. But the beginning of the Great War was met in his hometown. Despite his lack of military service, weapons skills, and a clear plan, Medea had a strong desire to help the troops. There was no immediate danger for Poltava far from the front, so it was decided to move to Kiev, on the outskirts of which fierce battles were already raging.

Arriving in the capital, the brave Poltava citizen joined the local TROs and for some time served in volunteer formations. After the liberation of the Kiev region, Artem and his brothers began to actively prepare for the transfer to more dangerous directions of the front. I felt like I couldn't sit back and waste time. Only in the summer he enrolled in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but this was not the main thing, because he was not looking for money. First of all, he wanted to do useful things and bring the victory of Ukraine closer.

In the army he took the call sign “Hess”. Joining the battalion “Stugna”, he was commanded in the Nikolaev area. From time to time he contacted his relatives, but did not tell any details, trying to calm them in this way. He also did not say that he was a grenade launcher on one of the hottest parts of the Southern Front. Being a loyal fan of Vorskla, he tried to follow the life of the club even while in positions. Unable to watch the matches, he called his brother during breaks and after matches to find out the score and details of the game.

Artem Medvedev fought in battle on August 18, 2022 near the village of Maksimovka, on the border of Nikolaev and Kherson regions. The bitter news arrived the next day, but there was no official confirmation. So he was considered missing for another three months. Only after the counterattack of the Ukrainian troops in the Kherson direction, the death of the brave Warrior was confirmed. From the war, Artem did not wait for a daughter, brother, father and mother. Artem was buried on 18.11.22 on the Alley of Heroes in his native Poltava.
