Andrey “Sheriff” Kozachenko is a fan of the football club “Desna” (Chernihiv), a representative of the team “North Vlock”.

Andrei Yevgenievich Kozachenko was born on June 19, 1985. He graduated from Chernihiv National Technological University. He had a cheerful and sociable character. Participated in KVK festivals and always tried to be in the spotlight.

Being an active fan of “Desna” traveled with the team almost the whole country. In the days of the Revolution of Dignity, “Sheriff” became an active participant in them, going to the capital's Maidan with the beginning of clashes with the security forces. Like the rest of football fans, he resisted the “golden eagle” on the streets of Kiev, and later wanted to go to defend the country to the East, but then his parents refused.

With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the “Sheriff” came to the defense of his hometown. Before that, he did not serve in the army and friends suggested to Andrei that he could also be useful in volunteering, because he had a car. But he was adamant in his decision to take up arms, because he could not get dry at home and joined the 166 Territorial Defense Battalion.

It was February 27, and the next day, during the shelling of the Chernihiv neighborhood ZAZ, while at the checkpoint, Andriy Kozachenko received a gunshot wound incompatible with life. Doctors of the regional hospital fought for his rescue, tried to operate, but could not do anything. On March 1, the 37-year-old defender was gone.

The ardent fan of “Desna” will no longer be able to see the performances of his team, will not visit the fan sector. However, it may well be that the next football matches will be held at the stadium named after him. After the restoration of the city stadium destroyed by the Russians in Chernihiv, it is planned to be renamed in honor of Andrei Kozachenko. And this must necessarily happen. The team, which Andrei has supported all his life at home and on the road - will play on the field of the stadium named after a true patriot of Ukraine and his hometown.
