Andrey “Bogatyr” Popovich is a fan of the football club “Metalist” (Kharkiv), a representative of the team “Simmer Polecats Crew”.

Andrei Vasilyevich Popovich was born on July 28, 1999 in the city of Balakliya (Kharkiv region). He studied at the school No. 1 of his native city, after which he entered the Kharkiv National University of Urban Economics named after him. Beketova. Since childhood, he was engaged in rough sports: football, wrestling, running and tourism. He was interested in the history of Ukraine and his hometown.

Andrei got into the fan sector of “Metalist” in his student years. “Panda”, which is what Andrey was called in the sector, actively supported the team at home matches and played away games. In 2016, he received an invitation to the SPC team.

According to the memories of his teammates, Andrei was one of the best sports pets of another famous representative of the Kharkov movement - Alexander Klushin. He participated in all the fights of the team in the last pre-war years, and also helped in organizing activities in the sector.

Friends recall Andrei as an example of a true ideological nationalist who proved his views in word and deed. A simple and sincere guy with clear life principles and beliefs.

Even before the start of a large-scale war, Andrei joined the ranks of the 92nd Air Force, as part of which he met the enemy in February 2022. He did everything possible for the speedy release of his native Balaklia.

Being an artilleryman, he later transferred to the infantry in the famous 1st battalion, because he wanted to do even more. In the battalion, he received the nickname “Hero”, and after the death of the group commander, he himself led it and led it forward.

Andriy Popovich disappeared on April 19, 2023 while performing a combat mission near the national park. Novoselivske (Luhanska obl).
